Collapsable poles

…are less likely to get lost!

You can attach one or two collapsed poles to loops on the outside of your backpack when not using them (be sure your backpack has this feature if you’re taking hiking poles).

Trekking poles have become so sturdy and so lightweight, that they’ve become an irresistible option for the Camino.

While I enjoy my wood walking-poles from previous Camino journeys, I’m now resigned to the fact that it’s much easier to travel with a collapsible pole.

Trekking poles are one of those things (like backpack water hydration systems) that greatly depend on personal preference. Some people like them; others not so much…

Try them out while training for the Camino. That’s the best test to know whether or not you want to take them with you.

If you’re not yet sure,
buy your Camino hiking pole in France or Spain:
Spanish = “baston”
French = “baton de marche”
